Teeth with necrotic pulps and a radiolucency
Teeth with a sinus tract (chronic periradicular abscess)
Advanced non-odontogenic bacterial infections ( i.e. staphylococcal mucositis, tuberculosis, gonococcal stomatitis, and oral syphilis)
